Hi Jonas, what are your first impressions of the company?
BUMAX is a small but innovative and high-class company that is dedicated to producing the best products on the market.
What is your role at BUMAX? And what does it involve?
As a Production Technician, my role includes many different tasks. It involves making production calculations for product inquiries, supporting our machine operators with programming, evaluating product specifications, leading and participating in investment projects and drawing product sketches in CAD-software.
What do you like about your job?
That it is a very varied and quite a hands-on role. In a single day, I might work at a machine in the workshop, deal with several customer inquiries, and create some designs in CAD – depending on time of course.
Tell us about your career before BUMAX?
I have a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Luleå Technical University, which I completed in 2003. From that year, I worked at Sandvik Coromant in Sandviken as a Development Engineer, for milling products and milling production methods, until I was hired by BUMAX.
What is the best thing about working at BUMAX?
Again, the variation, but also that all our colleagues are very friendly and that we have a great atmosphere at our facility in Åshammar. I also enjoy the mix of traditional and state-of-the-art production techniques and equipment.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I own several vintage cars and motorcycles, which take a lot of time – both to maintain and (hopefully) drive as well. I enjoy working hands-on with them.
