For BUMAX, sustainability involves balancing economic success with environmental management and social progress to benefit all our stakeholders.
We do this by producing fasteners made from long-lasting and recyclable stainless steel, and by constantly working to improve our production and supply chain.
Our Sustainability Policies
Our sustainability agenda is primarily governed by our Environmental Policy, and Code of Conduct and the policies for employees, the environment and anti-corruption of our parent company Bufab. Bufab is a signatory to the UN Global Compact and we follow its principles.

Sustainability focus areas
BUMAX follows Bufab’s sustainability focus areas, which drive our sustainability agenda:
- Long-term, systematic sustainability work – BUMAX has systematic policies that cover all areas of our business, and our sustainability work is supported by ISO 14001, and we follow the ISO 26000 guidelines.
- Sustainable global business – BUMAX only sources from selected European suppliers using Bufab’s global supplier process, and encourages them to adopt international principles.
- Responsible growth – BUMAX offers favorable returns to our owners while benefiting our employees and our suppliers – as well as our customers and society at large by providing more sustainable fastener solutions.

RoHS and REACH
Through the Bufab Environmental Policy, BUMAX ensures that its products comply with the RoHS2 DIRECTIVE 2011/65/EU regarding the restriction in the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. BUMAX is also committed to the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regarding the disclosure of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).
